Proxies
What are proxies? What are they used for?
Good proxies are essential when it comes to botting. Every day you will be confronted with conversations from other users about the best proxies and their speeds. Often it is not the bots but the proxies that are crucial for your success.
What are proxies?
A proxy server is an intermediary in a network that receives requests and forwards them vicariously. The proxy can be used to secure, obfuscate or speed up communication between a local client and a web server. In short, proxies allow you to access a store with different IP addresses. This is especially important if you use bots. You need to use bots with different proxies to prevent the store from denying access from your bot or PC.
What are the different types of proxies?
A main distinction is made between residential proxies (Resis) and data center proxies (DC).
Datacenter Proxies (DC): These proxies are much more expensive than Resis (between 1.60€ and 2€ per 30 days) but also much faster. Their speeds are often less than 100ms. DCs are paid per piece and have a runtime between 1-30 days. It is important that DCs have no data limit. Thus, they are well suited to run the bot for a long time. ISP Proxies (ISP): ISPs are not banned as fast as Datacenter Proxies (DC) and are used on sites such as Footlocker. Despite their advantage of being banned slower, they still have very good speeds, but are slightly slower than datacenter proxies.
Residential Proxies (Resis): Compared to DCs, they are significantly cheaper. They are mainly sold in the form of data plans (1GB,5GB,...). Their speeds are slower compared to DCs but they can also reach about 300-500ms. In the provider dashboard you can generate a list of proxies. Just select the desired region and the desired number. Only the data consumption is decisive, not the number. The longer you use them, the more data volume is consumed. Therefore, you have to be careful not to let your bot run for too long, otherwise it can quickly become expensive.
Task/Proxy Ratio: This indicates how many proxies you should add per task in your bot. This varies greatly from site to site. More details about the individual stores can be found in our Chanel #bot-setups.
You can find a list of good proxy providers in Discord in the category Proxy Provider.
