Server

In this section we will explain you why you need a server, how to set up a server and what possibilities there are to use them.

A server is mostly used to run bots on it. Although it is also possible to run local (on your laptop/PC), a server is usually much more powerful and offers a faster internet connection.

For the Apple users among you, a server will be especially important since most bots only support Windows as their operating system. In addition, you can control your server with your cell phone or tablet, so you have access even when you are on the road and can quickly start Quicktasks or the like.

In a nutshell, a server allows a bot to run smoothly and thus more tasks can be run.

There are several server providers, each with advantages and disadvantages. First of all, you should ask yourself for what period of time you need a server. There is the possibility to rent a server and then pay for it monthly or even annually. The price is then independent of the period of use. (You could leave it on 24 hours a day).

We would like to introduce you to such a monthly/yearly affordable server in the next guide (Netcup Server Guide).
